my mirrors auto tilt for the curb... they dim and they fold with a button on next to my window controls..

I can attest through first hand experience the E92 M3 mirror will not fit an e82. The base mounting points are in different locations. E90 and E92 M3 mirrors have different mounting points. I believe the e90 M3 will work.
Also the other significant difference is between Din and non-Din (fold back and Dimming vs none). If you have DIN, like I do, you will have a 3 pin connector vs 5 pin. They are not interchangeable, you cannot code it out unless you want zero control of the mirrors.
