With their clear, I found that less coverage and more applications was better.
Now with chips, I used a product from Scratch Wizard. It was a filler that you put in, and came with a bottle of scratch leveler. Put it on, wait 5 minutes, use the liquid leveler and it would pull off all the excess filler without doing anything to your existing paint.
Then you are left with an even surface. Their touch-up paint didn't match too well, so that is where Automotive Touchup came in as they had the best match to finish the job.
