My engine blew after I money shifted my n55. 10k later and a few months later I got my car back. I did this through an independent shop. The original engine had 90kish miles and the new sourced motor was at 70kish miles. My experience so far is supprisingly good and oil leaks from ofhg. If I could go through this all again/ after learning what I have about these cars and engines… I would have started with getting a daily that I can replace my hobbies with. Honda fits have huge track and daily capability with minimal entry/ upkeep cost. Once I have rebounded on the financial side, sourcing a rear impacted e92 m3. For track I think the s65 would be a perfect engine. The swap is relatively easy and has pleanty of sources on it. There is also very minimal costom work need to complete it. Even now, what the car has gone through this is still my goal. And with the knowledge of doing the swap and matenance, I would feel very confident on track. And then figure out a bore out for more power or a hybrid system like mountain pass performance did with their z. But that is way down the line.
