I think BMW wanted to compete more with AMG/Porsche with F8x M cars, they are awesome daily drivers.
The F8x CS variant is the faster and better car stock over the base and even the comp. Just has so much tq and will continue to pull all through redline in any gear and it doesn't run out of breath. As the CS ring time suggest, it isn't something to sneeze about. I tracked my F8x M3CS and although it was fast, it would break traction very easily (MDM mode) and this was on a stock michelin super sport. It was overwhelmingly fun and had a hard time staying consistent lap after lap because of all that tq down low.

The 1M just feels like home to me and the hydraulic steering feel is just bonkers. Under 400whp I think is the sweet spot and just let it rip.
