A simple tail light question/ red running lights don't work
The car is new enough to me it is still wearing temp tags & I did use the search function before writing this post.
09 135i, everything worked until the other night when a deputy "hollered" out the window at an intersection rather than pulling us over, to let me know my running lights are not working but my brake and turn signals are fine. I am grateful for the deputy's candor. In using the search function here, threads kinda focused on either "changing the look or function cosmetically, blacklines euro, etc" or "lots of stuff about modules and coding that I have no idea about.
Absolute Newb here, my other car is an ancient Buick. .. . times & electronics re lighting are not the same in 2009 BMWs as 1975 Buicks. Assuming I know nothing, is there a "start here, then try, and if not then try" kind of process I can use to get my car back to drive-able at night? At this point I just want to be able to drive at night without getting pulled over, I can think about cosmetics at a later juncture unless they are a by-product of functionality.
What is the cost effective, efficient solution?
