So did my 3rd brake light today. Last owner had replaced it and did not file the tab, or file the excess plastic on the light, or did the cutout…so I went thinking it was going to be a 10 min job. Spent the best part of an hour trying to get it out and ended up breaking it and bending the sheet metal around it slightly by prying…it’s not noticeable but I know it’s there. I took off excess plastic of new light and bent the metal tab inwards and still was a very tight fit (I know not the best but nothing that can’t be fixed). It’s going to be another PITA taking it out. Light didn’t turn on, connector seemed to have a bit of corrosion but tried it anyway. Most likely will end up having to buy a new connector to splice in. Never heard of the dealer having to reset it before. Anyone done the replacement and work without resetting light at dealer? Is it something that can be done with Carly?
