An exotic, IMO, is a class of car that combines a bunch of stuff - power, handling, materials, styling, cachet (created mainly by price), and reputation. Rarity, I'd argue, is more a function of the price than anything else. There's just not that many people who are willing or able to pay $250,000 for a car, so the rarity thing works itself out necessarily.

In my eyes exotics are the super luxury foreign swear word brands.
Ferrari
lamborghini
Bugatti
Pagani
Rolls
Bentley
Aston Martin
B Tier would be: Porsche, Koenigsegg, Lotus, Maserati, De Tomaso etc.
Chevy will never be an exotic. Never. Neither will BMW.
