I've removed the oil pressure control valve (aka hydraulic valve) and I hear it click when I put 12 volts across the connector pins. There doesn't appear to be any contamination that would hinder oil flow. There was some oil on the connector, enough that might make for a bad connection.
Do these valves fail in some way that the solenoid works but the valve is somehow blocked. How likely is it that cleaning the valve and connector and reinstalling it will solve the problem?
