I assure you that there are things that others pay for that I see little or no value in, but that doesn't mean they're not worthwhile for that person.
What's sad is that the large majority of dealers make buying a car so odious that people will pay extra to avoid dealing with them. A manufacturer-direct model can't come quick enough (but it probably won't).
