Would it affect the A/C compressor? The starter motor? The alternator? What about adding an unknown and untested electrical component directly inline with the ECU harness, such as the piggybacks? If something electrical gets fried in the engine, can the device be blamed?
That's the problem, you need to draw the line somewhere, which opens it up to various interpretations and makes it dependable on the customer's aggressiveness and the dealer's reason.
