repair the rear bumper.
i had a very similar knick in my rear bumper about 5 years ago in my GTI. i had the VW dealership that caused the damage fix it and it looked good as new. and...it cost me nothing. i am sure the cost to them was minor as well.
now if you just need an excuse to buy the performance rear bumper, by all means...green light.
