I would be pretty surprised if someone who does not want to pack their car with options because of NAV screen glare, weight, and/or complexity, etc goes against their preferences and purchases $5k with options because of speculation on the future value of the car.
But it seems that some do, in fact, purchase what they want and then use other reasons to justify their purchase to themselves and others.
