The unibody? No. The quarter panel sheet metal itself? Yes. I think you are exaggerating what was done a bit as well as the function of the sheet metal quarter panels. I do appreciate you raising the concern though because the lip of the rear quarter panel is definitely more susceptible to damage now since it is no longer a double panel for the first 1in and it is no longer rolled together with the inner layer which adds strength. You would need to intentionally hit the lip of the quarter panel to bend it though... The rest of the quarter panel is welded to the chassis and did not lose any "structural integrity." BMW seals the rear quarter panel with fender sealer the same way. Again, anyone who wants to maximize tire fitment cuts the inside lip off the front and rear fenders rather than just "rolling" it, and cutting the lip off allows you to PULL the fender much more easily with a very professional finish. just don't let any schmucks lean on your fenders... Still stronger than fiberglass too lol
