Once I switched to winters I noticed 1st to 2nd TC kicked in more aggressively. Lots of throttle cut and brakes cutting in harder in the back. I think BMW put a lot of nanny into traction control programming. Keeps me from getting into too much trouble. When I had my run-flats on in early November and the temps dropped below 40 is was hard to keep the TC light from not glowing.

Best way to tell is wait for a warm mid-50's or higher dry day and try it again.
