Could just be a code that got triggered when you remove the original seats. Try clearing the codes with ISTA or BMW-specific OBD tool.
If fault light still comes up then coding is the answer. I had to code when I installed Recaro buckets because all the original wirings are not usable. But the performance seat should have all the connections if I'm not mistaken.
