NUREMBERG, GERMANY - Last week, to mark 40 Years of the legendary BMW M1 mid-engined supercar and the BMW M1 Procar Series, BMW hosted the M1 Procar Revival at the Norisring in Nuremberg, Germany.
The event coincided with the DTM Race at the Norisring that weekend (July 5th - 7th) and made for some interesting photo opportunities with the new BMW M4 DTM.
The revival saw a reunion of legendary BMW Motorsport drivers Hans-Joachim Stuck, Marc Surer, Harald Grohs, and Jan Lammers.
During the 1980 Procar Season where the race at Norisring saw Hans-Joachim Stuck take first place ahead of Jan Lammers and Marc Surer.
Also 35 years ago, Harald Grohs took first place at Zolder in Belgium in a 635CSi.
Other famed figures from BMW Motorsport history were also present at the event, including Jochen Neerpasch, the original mastermind behind the BMW M1 programme.
Among the many drivers on the starting grid was none other than BMW M's own CEO, Markus Flasch.
A total of 14 BMW M1 Procars did laps around the street circuit at Nuremberg.
