It would move around under hard pressue/braking; but I didn't leave mine without anything.. I found a similar threaded Hex head bolt, with spring washers and was able to torque it down to 90lbs. Have not touched it since, other than to just check.. But it is a bitch, the spring washers were necessary to get the head out far enough to tighten, otherwise it will just sit in the caliper bolt hole loose.
