The 1er was philosophically made exactly to echo the impact the 2002 had; in fact Bangle mentioned specifically that the E82 was designed for the US market. It never had that big of an impact on most buyers but to SOME of us who had been waiting since the E30 for a small coupe it had a big impact. Sure there were other coupes but this one was boxy and simple and great to drive.
I love all the E82 range. Would love to get a 128i at some point have thought about it many times...as a 2nd casual city car |
