I know a few people that have tracked their new BMWs with the stock pads and rotors, and have gotten 3+ sets of pads and 2 sets of rotors within their warranty period.

Then again, I also have a friend that got their brake warranty service denied because they live in NYC, put <1000 miles on their car per year, and the rotors got a bit rusty in the parking garage. BMW of Manhattan denied the warranty repair (right or wrong, for you to decide. I'm just telling the stories).
