Amazingly, registering the battery incorrectly, or using the wrong input info, can cause ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS to include drivetrain problems. I diagnosed a 2011 528i for a throttle issue and intermittent radio operation. Turns out the IBS was bad, and the "New" battery he had installed was registered incorrectly. Replaced the IBS, and registered the new battery and the throttle issue was fixed and the radio/Idrive worked perfectly. No more random on and off reset cycles.
