Hi,

I wanted to present you my BMW e87 118d from 2008

I bought this car in January 2014, so i have it now 2 and a half year.

I already warn you, this post will be long, because the first modifications started in 2014, and i did a few

When I bought it:

Sadly i dont have an interior picture when I bought it, but i have this

So first thing I did was to buy some nice 17" rims (because student)

After this i retrofitted the blackline high:

and wrapped my interior with some carbon fiber vynil

And i painted the rims black with some foliatec plastidip

After a while I was thinking what else I should to to my car and i found this bumper in a local Facebook group, and bought it really cheap, without even knowing if it would actually fit

After some reading, i found out it fits easily to the e87 LCI without M pack, so I ordered the necessary plastic parts:

Then I was lucky, and some guy at the gas station backed into me:

Nothing major, but enough that his insurance paid a respray of the bumper. So I put on my new bumper.

And got it painted basically for free

So now I have a nice bumper, so what else can I spend my money on? Right some nice sport seats

They came from an e87 pre facelift, but fitted perfectly. Oh and did I mentioned they were cheap?

All this happened in the first 10 months I owned this car.

After a while with the shittiest steering wheel in the world, i found a nice M Steering wheel with the right airbag, and multifunction buttons, so i will retrofit these directly with the steering wheel (nope until this date they still don't work

) Wrapped the multifunction cover of course in this very nice carbon fiber....

Oh and I changed all the LEDs to red and white:

Here you can see the beautiful business head unit (changed it later for a professional one)

Soooo then in about march last year I was sick of the 16" winterwheels and the 17" summerwheels. So one late evening scrolling on a local facebook group, and somebody sold some x5 wheels (styling 153 in 8.5x18 et48) and i just bought them (because very good price)

They looked like this (picture from google) and had some nice 255 50 r18 tyres

With the right tyre (goodyear eagle f1 asymetric 2 in 225 40 r18) they already look much much better

But they didn't fit... The fender touched the tyre. So i bought some 10mm spacers for the front (Didn't have enough money for spacers in the back, but bought them later

)

So this was my x1 in april 2015

I really liked the look of the car now, but for the back something was still missing.... So I drove with my girlfriend to germany and picked up this bumper and sideskirt

And fitted:

Oh i also changed to M Look on the cluster:

After this in may 2015 I got some nice depo v2 for my birthday

Ah and i nearly forgot, i bought the much needed rear spacer:

Also changed to black indicators:

And I found a cool x5

I got this aero spoiler also really cheap (still needs to be painted and mounted)

So then i planned to buy some coilovers for the summer of 2015, but then my timing chain started making noises

after a quick tour to bmw, they needed to change them, sooo i had to pay 1800€ for the change (new clutch included)

So that were my plans with the coilovers... But i changed another thing.

Performance look exhaust with straight pipe.

And the professional unit changed to white and red:

After the fix of bmw, i finally got it back after 2 weeks.

And I went on vacation with it to corsica. And my x1 got stuck haha

But after the expensive repair at bmw, i managed to work some longer, and to afford finally the coilovers. Bought a nice set of Bilstein b14.

So this was last year. What did I do this year? Not so much, because I am without my car in erasmus semester in Poland. But I managed to get some parts, and some new plans. Before I went to erasmus, i changed the ugly vynil in the interior, and tried first time in my life to skin them with real carbon fiber:

They are not perfect, but i made them, so I have to like them

which I do.

Also I got a little bit tired of the red/white interior lightning in my car, so together with a new short shifter, and performance poke, my interior now looks like this:

I also lowered my car another 2 cm in the back

Looks nice when the spring is compressed:

And started on this project:

Door handle light and black ceiling (maybe alcantara)

I got all the parts together, except for the ceiling itself.

And I am thinking of mounting this, what do you think?

And the last part I got:

So on the done list are:

- 18" styling 153 rims
- e82 M pack front bumper
- e87 M pack rear bumper
- e87 M pack sideskirt
- depo v2
- e87 lci high backlights
- Bilstein b14 coilovers

- sport seats

- 135i or 130i brakes

- mounting and painting the aero spoiler
- mounting and painting the x3 shark fin
- maybe mounting kerscher lip
- tinting back windows 85%
- maybe cic high? or build something myself
- retrofit door handle illumination
- chip the engine with dpf off
- performance exhaust
- performance sideskirt
