Yeah, up til now it was impossible to buy a 1-series in the USA without a sunroof - that's why it's such a pet peeve of mine. I like CF, but the best part of it is that it's incompatible with a sunroof. And the 80 pound difference between sunroof and CF roof at the very top of the car is definitely going to be noticeable with regard to handling (and headroom). A 1M with mandatory sunroof is a deal-breaker for me...
Just look at the M3: Almost impossible to find a used E30, E36, or E46 without sunroof or moonroof in the US, but it's easy with E9X, thanks to CF roof...
