I changed my oil and filter at ~600 miles and 1400 miles. I'm gonna change it again at 3000 miles and every 3000 miles after that.

If it stops coming out black, I may start increasing the mileage between oil changes. I'm convinced that an engine will last forever if you keep your oil completely clean. I'm filing all the receipts just so I have documentation.

The dealership I bought it from said they'd change it at 1,400 miles, but my local dealership refused and said it was unnecessary. The way I see it, they only care if my car makes it to 50,000 miles without major problems. They want my car to die after the warranty is up so I buy a new one from them.

For all the premium gas I buy, what's another $50 for a purolator and 7 quarts of synthetic? To put it nicely, I take my car for spirited drives, frequently, and I want it to last 200K miles. I'll probably inspect and rebuild my turbos at 50K when my warranty is up.

You guys in the northeast using 5W-30?
