To follow up on ///BYU’s post above:
1. Started getting intermittent yellow battery sign on dashboard (e.g. waiting in line at gas station with ignition off listening to radio)
-Car cranks fine in spite of this. 31k miles, 9/2011 manufacture date, original battery.
2. Car/battery is put on CTEK tender weekly for a few days at a time.
3. Advance auto parts had cheapest battery after coupon code. Online prices run between $180-220 (pepboys, autozone, o’reilly’s, Sears, batteries plus, etc) Sam’s Club actually had one for ~$145. Costco doesn’t have correct type. AAP ended being $189.99 - 25% discount code, which is not as good as what ///BYU got last year.

The worst part was dealing with the metal retaining on both sides of the battery at the bottom of the well in the trunk. I recommend removing the one on the left (driver’s side, adjacent to the (+) terminal) and sliding the lip of the battery under the loosened clip on the right (passenger side, next to (-) terminal) - can keep that one raised enough by using a bent coat hanger to lift it until the battery is in place. Then reattach the other clip.
Also: don’t freak out (like I did) when you notice there is a braided blue/red wire that is just dangling unconnected from the IBS loom:

I was going to buy into the Carly ecosystem but WiFi adapter is $80 + $50 for iOS software which is an ANNUAL subscription fee. Umm, no thanks. I’m going to meet up with a local I found on CL who will register the battery. Coding not needed since specs are identical.
