A 255 on a 9" wheel is usually pretty flush with the lip, so I suspect the tire will have sufficient clearance. The tire may rub lightly on the shock body under load on occasion, but that's not a big deal. I've run ~1mm of tire clearance to my perch on my M3 for a year now with no issues.
