Yep exactly
The X3 has plenty to differentiate itself as it is quite a bit bigger and has 6 cylinder options plus it is rated for a lot higher towing capacity. But the 1 series, X1 and X2 are all virtually the same in my mind.
Perhaps this urban X thing might be BEV and/or PHEV as the only option to be a smaller option than the iX3. Perhaps BMW think that a unique car that is associated with being a BEV or PHEV only is a better option than trying to market the X1 or X2 with hybrid options.
Much like when celebs drove Priuses before the Model S came out.
