I've done it myself. Cut a neat hole on top of the cat housing in the exhaust. Grind the honeycomb crap out. Weld the section you cut off back on. Clean up the welds and you'll never be able to tell.

In saying that, I had N55 mids previously and there isn't a huge difference in sound. I was expecting without the resonator it would crackle and pop a lot more.
