Unpluging Sensor

On another forum it was suggested that simply unplugging the rain sensor will give you control with set intervals like a vehicle without auto wipers.
I can confirm by my own trails that unplugging the sensor will not automatically revert back to a factory interval with the thumb wheel. It will however provide a slower setting (longer delay between wipes) but this does not change with thumb wheel setting or speed.
This is on a 2011 135CP.
My problem was that in light rain the auto always wanted to go full bore, and I mean only a fraction slower than the first manual setting. Sensitivity settings seem to have no affect, thus the reason I tried to unplug the sensor in hopes of a more traditional fixed interval operation.
