Honestly, sell it. You'll get great money for it, you can get something else that you'll hopefully worry about less, and you'll address some of your concerns re sunroof, etc. Plus you'll free the car up to go to someone else that may enjoy it more.
I personally don't understand why you'll worry less about a car that you're suggesting will be a straight across trade (if you crash the 1M, couldn't you take the money and get a 335is?), but if it's what you'd feel more comfortable with then do it.
Or better yet put your name down for a new M4.
