WOO HOOO....Thank you Southlight! Somehow I feel vindicated now in my thought process on all this.

Sure we would all love a light weight reincarnated E30 M3. But some of us are also wise enough to recognize the limitations of corporate BMW, the timetables involved, the capital involved, etc. So when taking those factors into account, it makes sense that this will be a radical car, but built with off the shelf parts. In some ways, similar to the E30 M3.

To those that don't remember, the E30 M3 used a M6 engine lobbed down by two cylinders. It used E28 brakes. It used E28 wheel hubs and spindles. E28 ABS system with special hub rings. E24 dogleg transmission. Etc.
