Swapping from the GTX3584RS to a Gen 2 GTX3076, or even the 3071, should result in outstanding response without losing a huge chunk of top end power. A friend had his RB25DET Neo Gen 2 GTX3071 combination tuned just before Xmas where it managed a very respectable and responsive 391kW at the wheels running E85 at 23psi.

My daily driver RS Megane is almost the polar opposite of my R33. The Megane has a modest 170kW at the front wheels but at a touch over 1300kg and with exceptional grip it's very easy to extract 9-10/10ths - upgraded brakes and semi-slicks help. The R33 on the other hand, it is a very different story. It's still a road car and is equipped with most of the creature comforts. But it's loud, aggressive and a bit of a handful if not treated with respect.
My daily is a mildly modified 2012 Smart ForTwo turbo, 1.0lt, 3-cylinder that is a hoot to drive. I smile every time I get in it and tootle up the road. She will end up with somewhere in the region of 90kw (engine, not wheels) for a 750kg car. Very easy to extract 8/10ths....9/10ths means you've crashed.
