Lack of tracks, lack of frequent track days, high cost when trackdays are available (over $1000 usd a weekend just to be there is not uncommon), stupid rules on passing depending on who you run with, need to have a currently inspected, road legal car to run with the the org that is most convenient for me.
So yeah, there's that and then there's motocross. Three tracks within an hour of me that are open to the public not only on weekends but during the week. Pay $25 and ride all day long. Open practice so you can go as fast as you want, where you want, with no restrictions on passing or anything. That's how it should be done for cars, but I guess there's too much liability or something. We are just plain stupid about it.
