We pay at least 4 taxes on vehicles here:
Import tax S$140 (~US$110)
"Additional registration fee" (100% of car's import value, for a 1M that's almost S$60K or US$46K)
"Certificate of Entitlement (to drive a car for 10 years)", now at approx S$70,000 (or US$56,000)
Goods and Services tax, 7%
So on top of the price of the 1M, you'd pay about US$110 + US$46K + US$56k + 7% = approx US$100K of taxes.
And the single digit number plates are probably bidded for at an astronomical price (likely well over S$20K or US$15K)
FYI my E90 320i 4 pot crap costs about US$150K!
