Not sure I buy the heat causing failures story. If that was the case I would think it would be pretty easy to correlate pump failure to a region (Southwest US, Middle east, etc.) but it seems the failures are happening everywhere. In fact, from what I have seen of the people who have failures, a lot seem to be from the Northeast US and Europe (but that is based only on my recolection).
