A week later it will arrive this afternoon, 1 November with 2975 miles on it.

By way of introduction, I have driven two BMWs since 1973, a 1970 red 2002 which I drove for 20 years and 360,000 miles, and my current car, a 2000 M Roadster which I have driven for 10 years and 140,000 miles. I have always regretted selling the 2002. I try not to make the same mistakes twice, so the Roadster remains with me, to my wife's dismay.
Welcome to 1M clan, it seems like you've chosen the right car for you to keep for another 10 to 20 years

Please share photos of your now gone 2002 and M Roadster as well, most of us like me are big fans of both.
