Kinda surprised that we're driving on Friday already. We'll be staying for one night on Thursday somewhere around Lienz and our original plan was to drive on to the hotel from East (from Cortina, so a fair bit of the Saturday group route). Hmm.

The purpose is to get to the hotel in Pecol/Canazei (Sella Ronda) by dinner time on Friday July 17. Don't rush if timing gets tight. Take breaks for your proper safety.

Initially no pre-run was scheduled for Friday July 17. However, some asked me whether I could put something together as appetizer, provided a departure from Munich around 10am by some.

Hence I proposed Vipiteno/Sterzing (Austrian/Italian border) as meeting point and 1am-3am as time window to "land", for those coming from the North. Subsequently (thus at 3am) we plan to hit the roads again with the hotel at Sella Ronda as final destination of the day.

If your traveling schedule and/or road circumstances (queues/roadworks) do not allow you to make it to Vipiteno/Sterzing before 3am, feel free to chose one of the following options:Regarding the former Shell fuel station. When I passed there a few weeks ago I decided to refuel elsewhere nearby where they got 98 RON. As Dackelone righteously pointed out, it's the smart choice to refuel in the Vipiteno area to have peace of mind for the rest of the day.

If you come all the way from Prague and plan to stay in Lienz (Austria) on Thursday evening (July 16), certainly grab that opportunity to drive the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse, as it's on your way to Lienz (not free of charge though).

And on Friday, when leaving Lienz in the morning towards the hotel in Pecol/Canazei, here's a suggestion for an exciting journey for you (please note that, realistically speaking, there is a reasonable chance that the group will opt for roadmap B on Saturday July 18, thus skipping the region East of Sella Ronda, which you can drive on Friday July 17) (247 km - 05h27 if no queus):
