I am attempting an "xdrive" 128i with a GM drivetrain, 6.2 turbo LS, hence the need for the big brakes and axle.
A full M3 rear end might be easiest and cheapest, yeah. Only thing to watch out for is if you can get a front final drive to match one of the M3 rears (DCT or manual). Or the 8.8 final drive for that matter if you still go that route.
