The shop said they'd never seen original N54 turbos with that many miles on them. Most people just get rid of the car when the turbos go, but I think the only thing better than a full power 135i (with the PPK2 kit on it) will cost me well north of $60k. I'm upgrading the suspension while I'm at it.

This. There really isn't much that's better than a well maintained and modded N54/N55 powered car for the price of an N54/N55 car. That's the only reason I invested so much money in mods like an LSD is because I won't be able to afford a better car for several years until I'm done with school
