SEMA got their information from the Automotive News report from last week. Unfortunately, they took the information oout of context. The AN report stated that the 1 Series starts at $27,400 in Europe. That's for a base 116i. That figure is irrelevant to the American market, since we all know how poorly the Euro-to-Dollar conversions are for German cars. And ours certainly won't be equipped with a 1.6-liter 4.
The bottom line- BMW still has not made any official announcement about the 1 Series for America, except that we will indeed get one. All statements thus far have been unofficial.
