Xenons are pretty easy to put on. My X5 did not come with Xenons (I bought CPO) and I put them on. Pretty much four bolts and a little trim to swap out the light unit. The BMW unit is pretty much plug and play into the ballast and light unit.

Let's see, you can get xenons for about a grand off of ebay. In the US, the optionis 730. The sport package in the US is 1600, adaptive suspension is more and so is the 18" wheels. I would get the sport package and xenons later. Maybe BMWs don't look right with xenons, but you really buy the car for the sporty handling and response.
