This seems to be very common with 1M's.

I wonder IF BMW designed the charge pipe intentionally to break/crack instead of something more expensive like a intercooler or turbo vane(s) ???

I remember years ago when I had a Calloway turbo'd VW the spark plugs were designed to MELT before the pistons! No kidding.
