The fuel is South Africa is incredibly crap. And the manufacturers detune their cars to match (well, they used to, the fuel is so crap that the ECU's went into limp mode before they could adjust). And then most of the country is a mile high and hot...combine altitude with heat with very crap fuel...horrible combination.

I think the 135i was tested down there at something like 5.5s 0-62mph. Making it go <5s is a major feat...below 4...probably just a dream for even heavily modified cars on race fuel.
Here the 135 has a stock 0-60 of 4.7 seconds, under 4 is definitely possible with full bolt ons.
