If you really want to reinstall that part then pull yours out....stick a little screwdriver in the hole and push the little piece of metal out. Reinstall.

Pull your old CDV out. Throw it far far away. And reconnect the existing lines.
Honestly the CDV was and is one of the dumbest thing BMW has ever done. And the people who made this part were just dishonest.
The only possible reason to ever have installed one was if you were worried about the dealer spotting your modification and would deny your claim for your clutch or driveline.
Other than that a total waste of money.

Take all of your passengers' neck snapping "you can't drive stick" frustration out on that POS with a sledgehammer. Godawful part, and embarrassing to have on the car as a driver. That thing embarrassed me for 2 months with my carpool. Taking it out was the best thing that I've done to the car so far.
