The key words that jump out for me are "...interim remedy parts...". No one at my BMW dealer who did the recall ever suggested that they were making a temporary fix to my airbag, nor did the letter I received from BMW telling me it was time to contact my dealer to have the recall performed.

Was anyone told that this fix was temporary? I believed I was getting a brand new airbag unit as a permanent resolution to the metal-shards-shooting-into-your-throat problem.
