My 225/255's are mounted on my OE M-Sport wheels: 7.5jx18 and 8.5jx18. Like I said in my original post here... the 255's really need to be mounted on a 9j wheel... but its only 10mm wider... and so many people run this 255 tire on the factory 8.5j rear wheel. They work - but technically should not. I guess it also depends on the tire brand... bc some tires are larger than their technical stamped size on the sidewall.
I've seen lot of German 1er's run this e46 offset Performance wheels. I think they look good.

My invoice from the TR says 255's will fit 7.50-9.00. That seems like a large range but here is the invoice.
Love the tires and I'll probably drive the car more now because of them.
