Lucky for me, a local 1Addict, Swadeness lent me one of his 18 inch winter wheels, and I drove home on that. For me this exposed the problem with space saver tires. When you need to use one... you really just need a real full size tire. The next week I bought a steel 17" wheel and a 205/50HR17 tire. I also have the BMW jack kit that they sell.

I found my spare 18" wheel (shown in photo) so heavy and it takes up so much space that I finally have bitten the bullet and ordered an alloy space saver from e-Central Store. Freight costs a bomb, but its like buying an insurance policy.
