The issue with a write up on VANOS is because honestly not every car responds or reacts in the same way to the same changes. Generally speaking the goal with VANOS tuning is to balance it out with everything else: wgdc, timing, boost, etc... are all affected(sometimes hugely) by changing VANOS mapping and it's hard to tell if your efforts are paying off without a dyno. For instance, Sometimes you can run less WGDC to hit the same boost and pick up power(win-win) by a change in VANOS but sometimes you get the jump WGDC and a drop in power(lose-lose.)

We stress the importance of a dyno in this situation because, honestly until you get a very good feel and understanding of it, you can end up chasing your tail and never catch it.
