That formula results in each cylinder being 500cc.

The most efficient size for making power is around 300-350cc. This is why F1 cars went from V12's to V10's when the rules capped displacement at 3.5L and then 3.0L. Now the limit is 2.4L and they use V8's (300cc per cyl)...
