If you really want Euro headlamps, but are balking at the price of Genuine OEs, maybe consider a set of Valeos, which I'm pretty positive are OEM. I saw some on eBay earlier this month for about $500/lamp. Just Google "Valeo" plus the part number of the lamp (just remember that there are AHL [i.e., adaptive] and non-AHL versions with different part numbers, and all US xenons were AHLs - the price I mentioned above was for AHLs).

I did the pre-LCI US-spec to LCI Euro-spec conversion a couple of years ago; I bought OE lamps from Schmiedmann. It was pretty pricey even back then, but it has only fotten more expensive (I think >$1000/lamp!). If I were doing it all over again, I would definitely go the OEM route.
