For what it is worth if you use a paint sealant on your car instead of a wax it will protect the paint for around 6-8 months.
This will not stop you from having to wash your car but would negate the need to apply wax monthly. In addition your car will clean a lot easier as the paint sealant helps stop dirt sticking to the car.
There are lots of different paint sealant sealants available however one of the best is called Zaino. It would take about a day to do the job properly.
